Edmund McMillen

Edmund McMillen cropped.jpgA) Edmund Mcmillen is a video designer and artist for Team Meat. He has worked many successful games like Meat Boy, Super Meat Boy, Gish, Aether, The Binding of Isaac and Coil. He is best none for the style of art that he does. His style is called pixel art which is involves making drawing each individual pixel and having them much larger than normal.

McMillen has a large role within Team Meat. It is his job to to make all of the visuals in the game. This consists of all of the modelling, lighting, animation, texturing and effects. For his most popular release, Meat Boy, he used many of his childhood drawings as inspiration for the game's look and feel. He also used his history of comic design to make a Super Meat Boy comic book as promotional material.

B) Due to the the specific style Edmund McMillen uses to make his games. He uses the program Adobe Flash Professional which is an authoring tool that you can use to create games, application and other content that responds to user interaction like a player for example. Flash projects can include simple animations, video content, complex user interfaces, applications and much more. He Also worked on the concept art and level design which just consisted of writing a drawing their ideas on paper and tweaking it until it's perfect.

C) There are many skills Edmund McMillen needed to make an indie game. These skills include level design to make each level and to have them each serve the correct purpose. He also needed Graphic design to make everything from the backdrop, to the props and traps as well as the character. Another skill Edmund McMillen would need is animation to create the movement of the character and traps or anything else that isn't idol in the game. Finally, Edmund would need artistic skills to create the concept art as well as the comic books that went along with Meat Boy.
