Job Titles and Descriptions

Programmer:

A programmer can have many different roles depending on what type of programmer they are. A game programmer is someone who writes the code for the game to function properly. For example, if you had a level that required a door to automatically open when a player stepped in a certain location then the game programmer would write a sting of code that would tell the game what to do and when.

A graphics programmer is responsible for creating realistic visuals. It is there job to design the textures that overlay the models. This would mean they create the colours for everything on-screen. They are also tasked with make realistic animations. This would ensure that, for example, the characters movements look smooth and human.

Game Designer

These people have to work are things like the rules of the game, the settings, the story and characters, and the props and the different ways the game can be played. They work with a team of people with different jobs to makes the game will work and work well. They are also in charge of the team and acts like a supervisor to make sure everyone in track and doesn’t have anything holding them back.
