Game Production Homework

Concept

In this phase the core and most basic ideas about the story line and game play are established. Concept artists are hired to make sketches of how certain aspects of the game will look. A group of people will ask questions about the game like "why is it fun?" Then they will decide what platforms they should put it on and how expensive it would be. Then they make a budget and time frame so they know what to do and when. Finally, they decide if they can progress to the next stage.

Pre- production

Further developing the concept by treatments, storyboards and creating a plot. The writers would be responsible for the storyboard, the producers would work out and solve the legal/ethical issues and animators would begin to make the beginning drafts.

Production:

There are many jobs that need to be filled. like, the programmer for creating the code, the graphic designer for makes the models and layout of the game, the producer who manages and tests the game for bugs and quality, the audio technician for making the music and sound effects and the marketing team to advertise the game through media accounts and other means.

The production means to create the main game for the post-production. It includes a beta build of the game which is a playable version that is nearly complete. Eg. "Hello Neighbour".

Post-production:

A collaborative effort of the full development team in the attempt to release new content and fix errors in the game through patches and downloadable content (DLC). Advertisement, merchandise and events help redistribute sales and bolster the reputation for future investments in the independent property.

Developers often use the the post-production period to fix errors or bugs in the system/code of the game. Whilst the directors or affiliates of the team may take steps to increase their marketing influence.
